Alexander Lukashenko, the president of Belarus, gave the order to have a Horizont laptop installed in his workspace. The President of the Republic’s press office reported this.

On January 20, Lukashenka went to the “Intellectual Belarus” exhibition in Minsk, which showcases the country’s technological and scientific advancements. The head of the republic said that such equipment is already in his office, “instead of the device of a well-known Western brand,” after seeing laptops built in Belarus.

The Belarusian President Lukashenka would no longer have a “apple on the table,” according to the Telegram channel “Pool of the First,” which is linked to the president’s press office. This was a subtle reference to an Apple computer. The Belarusian President gave an order to enhance the percentage of indigenous components in laptops to 70% by the end of the year during the show.

Alexander Lukashenko, the president of Belarus, unveiled the nation’s first laptop on September 1st, 2022. The chief of state expressed assurance that it would be the most cutting-edge computer by the standards of the entire world. The smartphone had 12% domestic components at the time, but its H-book MAK4 hardware was built around an Intel Core 11 processor.

The Gorizont plant started mass producing laptops from Belarus on December 22 of last year. According to the company’s general director, Yuri Predko, this device can compete with “renowned brands” in terms of quality and performance.
