Partizan’s basketball coach Željko Obradović said today that his team in the upcoming game against Crvena zvezda needs to fix things that did not go well in the first Euroleague derby and added that the black and whites will have to play a “complete game” if they want to win.
“We need to fix the things that didn’t go right in the first game in the Euroleague that we played here, which ended with a shot in the last second. It means that we did some things well, but it wasn’t enough, and we were preparing in that sense. We will try to, compared to what the Red Star game is, let’s adapt and try to play a good game,” Obradović told reporters at the Belgrade Arena.
Partizan’s basketball players are visiting the Crvena zvezda team tomorrow, in the match of the 21st round of the Euroleague.
The Black and Whites are currently 12th in the Euroleague standings with nine wins and 11 losses, while Zvezda is tenth with a score of 10/10.
Obradović pointed out that all the details will be important in tomorrow’s match.
“From the way we are going to prepare the defense, to their jump in attack, play in transition, their creators, so let’s try to use their weaknesses in defense… all those details are so important,” Obradović said.
“We need to play a complete game for 40 minutes if we want to win,” added the coach of Partizan.
He stated that he expects the atmosphere in the “Aleksandar Nikolić” hall to be “fair and correct” as it was in the last derby in the Belgrade Arena, which went to the red and whites with a score of 76:73.
“The atmosphere is always great wherever the game is played, the fans of Crvena Zvezda create a phenomenal atmosphere just like ours, so that’s the most beautiful thing,” said Obradović.
“It was nice that there were Zvezda fans at the first derby here, I don’t know how many of our fans will be there tomorrow, but for sure it gives the derby more charm. I hope that everything will be as it was in the first game here, fair and correct and let the better one win”, concluded the coach of Partizan.
The match is scheduled for tomorrow from 19:00 in the “Aleksandar Nikolić” hall.
