In the Korisliiga’s upper secondary series, Kouvot came in sixth place.
Seagulls defeated Lahti Basketball 98-95 at home on Saturday to wrap off the men’s Korisliiga regular season.
Lahti won the first period, but the Helsinki Seagulls grabbed control of the game in the second and went into the third with a 15-point lead. Lahti’s kiri leveled the score with one minute remaining, but the Seagulls managed to win in the end.
Zena Edosomwan led the Seagulls with 25 points. Chris Clarke, a stranger, finished with 29 points.
In the initial series, the Seagulls came in second. Lahti is trying to capitalize on the lower continuation series’ momentum.
The hollows, which defeated Kataja Basket on the road in Joensuu by a score of 100-91, was the last team to earn a spot in the upper secondary series.
The third-placed team in the regular season, Kataja, continued to be the underdog in their home game and never took the lead. Kouvot established a 26-point lead by the end of the second period. In the dying moments, Kataja tried to draw, but Kouvot prevailed 12-2.

Deshon Taylor, the winner of the regular-season points trade, scored 35 points for Kouvoi. Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson led Kataja with 26 points.
With a victory at Lapua, BC Nokia also had a chance to advance to the upper secondary series, but Kobrat flipped the game in BC Nokia’s favor by scoring 72 points.
BC Nokia had a ten-point lead over the Kobrat in the final ten minutes of the third period, which was an even game.
Alan Herndon mixed Johnathan Stove’s 16 points for guests while Kaelin Jackson scored 22 points on Kobr.
Vilpas, who had already clinched their spot in the upper secondary series, narrowly lost 101-98 after overtime against last-place Uusikaupunki’s Korihait, who finished last in the regular season.
The game’s dominant player, Korihait, led by 15 points midway through the second half. Vilpas had the advantage at the conclusion of the third session, but Korihait sent the game into a decisive overtime.
Quntin Gooden Vilppa scored 26 points for Korihai, and Prince Oduro scored 22.
The champion Kauhajoki Karhu Basket won all of their home games throughout the regular season, but Tampere Pyrintö narrowly prevailed 80-78 in the final triumph.
Pyrintö built a 15-point lead in the second half, but halfway through the third, Karhu Basket overcame it. A few minutes before the end, Pyrintö took the lead, but Karhu Basket won the match.
For the victors, Henri Kantonen and Severi Kaukiainen each scored 13 points. With 22 points, Ike Smith was Pyrinnö’s star player.
