Good work knows neither gender nor age
Out of 27 nominees female architects selects the top-class jury (sun camacho, Odile Decq, Rahul Mehrotraas well as the former director of the Pritzker price Martha Thorne) five finalists who come to Berlin for the award ceremony. The nominees selected by an international advisory board sit down the same way divers together as the price would like to be. Eight originate from Europe, seven from Africa, five from Asia, three North Americans, three South Americans and one Australian are also nominated. The list also shows that there is no age limit for quality work: the youngest architect is 32 years old, the oldest 75. 13 architects run their own architectural practice, and ten others are co-founders.
